Oasis Legal Finance was awarded more than $3 million in costs and attorney’s fees after winning a trademark case against its former CEO.

Bloomberg Law reports that the case was deemed ‘exceptional’ by Judge Robert W Gettleman, who stated that the company proved most of its claims. He also noted that the defendants were ‘unreasonable’ in their litigation strategy.

Oasis fired its CEO in 2013, and later sued him and one other party for trademark infringement after he allegedly launched a similarly named business.
