As LFJ reported last week, we are seeing one of those rare occurrences in which a funder and client’s relationship breaks down in a very public and contentious manner, as Burford Capital and Sysco have found themselves in opposition to one another. However, it appears that Sysco’s lawsuit against Burford was only the beginning of this conflict, as Burford’s subsidiary companies have launched their own lawsuit against Sysco.
